Description

Le site de Sravanabelgola avec l'étang blanc (réservoir au centre) et ses deux collines, lieux sacrés du culte jaïn : Chandragiri (au fond sur la photo) et Vindhyagiri ou Indragiri (lieu de prise de vue) où se trouve la statue monumentale de Gomateshwara

Sur la colline de Chandragiri se trouvent 14 temples jaïns consacrés aux prophètes de la religion jaïns : les Tirthakaras. Ils ont été construits à partir du Xème siècle.
