Summary
[edit]DescriptionSpinner of wool, Castell Henllys - geograph.org.uk - 938946.jpg |
English: Spinner of wool, Castell Henllys Before wool can be woven it must first be cleaned, carded and spun into a twisted thread. Without this twist there is no strength in the wool. Before spinning wheels were invented a stick would have been used which then progressed into a spindle providing a weight near its base to make the spinning easier. |
