Summary

[edit]
Description This image is of the old Speedwell General Store, which once stood next to the Jackson County Recreation Center in the Cullowhee Creek Valley. The store operated at this site from the 1950s up until around 2010. Selling gas and groceries and having several apartments in the upper floor, the building was a landmark and a community gathering place for generations. Today, the building sits empty and forlorn, a relic of a bygone era.
