Summary
[edit]DescriptionSpasmodic Geyser (14 August 2010) 07.jpg |
English: Geysers are hot springs that episodically erupt columns of water. They occur in few places on Earth. The highest concentration of geysers anywhere is at the Yellowstone Hotspot Volcano in northwestern Wyoming, USA.
Spasmodic Geyser is a decent-sized geyser complex in the eastern Sawmill Group of Yellowstone’s Upper Geyser Basin. Spasmodic erupts frequently, usually in tandem with nearby Sawmill Geyser. It has two moderately large, slightly irregularly-shaped pools that are about 2 to 4 meters across each. It also has numerous small to very small vents, all of which have eruptive activity. I have observed 21 total vents. Well-developed nodulose geyserite surrounds Spasmodic’s vents. Video of Spasmodic Geyser: www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDQLdMfPeWg |
