Malay boys on Christmas island play the drumbeat to initiate a malay martial art performance

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Every year, the Christmas Island community comes together to celebrate the founding of the workers union, which many years ago first provided basic rights to workers in the phosphate mine. This day is now celebrated with a variety of performances. This picture shows young boys from the local Malay community playing the drums in unison before the martial art performers enter the stage.
