Pessebre "Barcelona 2007" essència... és el títol del pessebre d'aquest any. La creació de dos espais: l'un urbà i l'altre la natura, ens duu a reflexionar sobre l'essència del Nadal.
Aquest pessebre ens convida a passejar tant pel seu voltant com per l'interior. El camí que el travessa ens marca un recorregut que té el seu inici en un espai inspirat en la trama urbana; una àmplia avinguda rectilínia ens porta per un espai de formes i volums arquitectònics que simbolitza l'ordre, la racionalitat i el control de l'home sobre la natura.
Al final d'aquesta avinguda el camí pren un traçat sinuós, desapareixen els edificis per donar pas a un espai natural, com un racó de bos mediterrani. Aquesta part simbolitza l'espontaneïtat, la llibertat i l'equilibri natural.
El Naixement és el nexe d'unió entre la ciutat i la natura i representa el respecte, la fraternitat i la convivència, en definitiva... l'essencia del Nadal.
essència ha estat dissenyat per un grup d'alumnes de l'IES M. Rubió i Tudurí, Escola de Jardineria. En l'execució del projecte hi col·laboraren alumnes d'aquesta escola sota la direcció d'obra de Parcs i Jardins.
La majoria de les espècies vegetals que s'han utilitzat són adaptades al clima mediterrani; cal destacar les alzines utilitzades en la zona boscosa.
