Deutsch: Flügelaltar aus Sankt Gereon. Die Anfertigung von Altaraufsätzen gehörte zu den zentralen Aufgaben der Spätgotischen Kunst. Maler Bildschnitzer und Schreiner waren gleichermaßen für die Ausführung verantwortlich. Mit ihrer Zusammenarbeit verbreiteten sich künstlerische Entwicklungen über alle Gattungen hinweg.
