English: CUSCATLAN, El Salvador (Sep. 2, 2016) - Lt. Cmdr. Ebony Ferguson, a clinical nurse specialist assigned to Fort Belvoir, right, helps an Operation Blessing Medical Brigade doctor check a patient for symptoms at a temporary treatment site in Cuscatlan, El Salvador during Southern Partnership Station 2016 (SPS 16). Operation Blessing’s Medical Brigade is a nonprofit mobile patient care unit established to provide medical service to those affected by natural disasters and render aid to rural areas. SPS 16 is an annual series of U.S. Navy deployments focused on subject matter expert exchanges with partner nation militaries and security forces in Central and South America and the Caribbean. U.S. military teams work with partner nation forces during naval-focused training exercises, military-to-military engagements and community relations projects in an effort to enhance partnerships with regional maritime activities and improve the operational readiness of participants.
