Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Friendship Circle on the campus of Southeastern Louisiana University is dominated by Friendship Oak. This tree is hundreds of years old. Like other mature spreading oaks, Friendship Oak at Southeastern is maintained by arborists to prevent the limbs from growing into the ground. Note the Spanish moss. "I Saw in Louisiana a Live Oak Growing" (poem) by Walt Whitman describes such a tree.
