English: Southbound passenger train at Knockarney crossing - 1995 Northern Ireland Railways' 111 class diesel locomotive No. 112 "Northern Counties" takes the 17.00 Belfast (Central) - Dublin (Connolly) passenger service past Knockarney level crossing. Situated just south of Poyntzpass, Knockarney was a request stop until closure of the branch line from Goraghwood to Newry and Warrenpoint in 1965. The crossing was eliminated in the late 1990s. |
