Title
South Australian Railways departmental car (previously sleeping car) "Willochra"
Description
"Willochra" was one of six broad-gauge (1600 mm or 5 ft 3 in) sleeping cars imported from the Mann Boudoir Car Company, New York, in 1886 to be part of the Intercolonial Express between Adelaide and Melbourne (later named "The Overland"). It had 20 berths off a side corridor. In 1909, one end was reconfigured as an observation car for departmental inspection tours. It was originally identified as O1, later numbered 116 on the South Australian roster, and named "Willochra" in 1910. It was sold to Rofe & Co. in 1935.
