Description
English: Cropped photo of a stained glass window in the entrance hall of Armadale Castle. The figure represents Somerled MacGilleBride (d. 1164). A portion of the window, which does not appear in this cropped image, reads "SOMERLED REX INSULARUM".
Date The photo dates to no later than 1984 (the year the book was published). The stained glass window itself dates to no later than 1815 (the year it was installed).
Source Scanned from the book The Hebridean Connection, page ii, by Angus John MacDonald and Donald A. Fergusson, published in 1984.
Author The photo is not credited, but the books states on page iv that it was "reproduced with the kind permission of Lord Macdonald's Estate". The stained glass window was the work of W. R. Eginton.
