| Description | We are now in one of the rooms (probably for accommodation) in the Atashgah fire temple complex which bears much physical evidence that the complex was a Hindu and Zoroastrian place of worship. - well, detailed notes appeared in the previous caption. Many of the chambers around the main temple had this hole in the floor, where the devouts could light a fire and perform their prayers. Most of these holes have been sealed off during the re-development, as they have turned into museum offices, exhibition areas, a gift shop etc. but the actual fire hole has been left untouched in some of the rooms, like this one right here.
