There are four paths right in front of you... Because of the tresspass laws in this stupid country we would be liable for any harm that came to anyone on our property, even tresspassers. To keep people from hurting themselves and/or getting lost a lot of the trail heads are kept hidden. Also we have a real problem with All Terrain Vehicles. When an ATV comes through on a path the big chunky treads absolutely rip apart the ground underneath not to mention when a wheel gets stuck and is spun down to the limestone to get loose. You see a lot of people who own these silly machines don't actually own any land to run them on. So they throw it on a trailer, head north and because they've spent thousands of dollars on their toy, it somehow becomes their "right" to tear-ass all over other people's properties. So to keep them off the wider paths we let fallen trees stay where they've landed, branches and all. Unless the tourist has a chainsaw they tend to turn around. |
