Description

Marais des Cygnes National Wildlife Refuge uses prescribed fire as a land management tool. Often other federal agencies such as the National Forest Service, partner with US Fish and Wildlife to get the prescribed burns accomplished. Recently the National Forest Service's mascot, Smokey Bear, attended the Refuge's "Let’s Play Outside" event. While at the event, Smokey joined forces with US Fish and Wildlife Service’s refuge system's mascot, to get the word about fire safety and uses.
