Summary
[edit]DescriptionSlovak women performing the Nazi salute.jpg |
English: Slovak women performing the Nazi salute.
According to www.herder-institut.de this propaganda photo shows members of the Hlinka Youth-Girls in Bánovce nad Bebravou, Slovakia in 1941. On the "Day of the Hlinka Youth", female members showed their support for this far-right movement. The Hlinka Youth, part of the Hlinka Slovak People’s Party (HSPP, (Slovak: Hlinkova slovenská ľudová strana), was influenced by Italian and Austrian fascism and had a pro-Nazi faction. The HSPP governed the Slovak State (1939-1945), allied with Nazi Germany. The Hlinka Youth, for ages 6 to 20, was established in 1938 after other youth groups were dissolved. |
