Description These buildings in the Clifton Gaslight District of Cincinnati are home to two popular local eateries, the most prominent of which is Skyline Chili, a popular local Cincinnati-style chili restaurant chain, which has a vintage sign outside of this particular location. The building next door, an historic apartment building, houses J. Gumbo's, a Louisiana Creole restaurant. The buildings these two establishments are housed in date to the late 19th Century and early 20th Century, respectively, with the Skyline Chili building being a German-style structure that was originally set back from the street, but had a ground-level extension added to more effectively use the lot it sits on for rental income and indoor space. These buildings were the subject of one of my earliest posts, and I have decided to better photograph and document both, as well as the cool sign that hangs at the corner.
