English: The Sklifosovsky Research Institute For Emergency Medicine opened a special department to treat patients with COVID-19 on March 20, 2020. Since that date the most severe patients were treated here, coming not only from all over Moscow, but also from other regions of the country. Here, for the first time in Russia, new methods of treatment were used and people with 100% lung damage and severe concomitant pathologies made full recovery. The first surgeries in the infectious department were held on February 21, 2021. All types of operations performed at the Institute at that time were also available to patients in the infectious ward.

С февраля 2021 года в Институте Склифосовского работают операционные, в которых проводятся все профильные для НИИ виды вмешательств.
