Notes Han Chinese wear pleated wrap skirts like this one as part of their traditional dress. The skirt’s bright colours suggest it was worn by a young woman at a festival or special occasion. The maker has embroidered the border with auspicious symbols like endless knots in gold thread, and peaches in blue thread which are symbols of longevity.
