Notes | Netball New Zealand formal uniform skirt, (World Netball Championships, Sydney, 1991) At these championships, despite their number one seeding, New Zealand placed second to Australia. The team was captained by Waimarama Taumaunu, who viewed it as 'the most inexperienced - (she) had ever been involved it an that level. It was also the tallest - ' Source- Court in the Spotlight- 75 Years of New Zealand Netball, Peter Hawes and Lizzy Barker, 1999, p142. The association name Netball New Zealand, the logo blending the game and the silver fern, and the familiar national team name the 'Silver Ferns' were all adopted in 1991. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
