Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Site of the Medieval Village of Northeye Originally a small island in Pevensey Bay before being colonised and becoming a site for a village and small port which grew in importance and became a limb of the Cinque Ports. However silting of the marshes through inning, the violent storms of the 13th and 14th centuries and the resulting economic depridations meant the population moved away living the village to whither away and become a field with a few embankments as a reminder of a once flourishing community.
