Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Site of Sandsend railway viaduct
The Whitby to Middlesbrough railway was quite heavily engineered, featuring two tunnels, a clifftop route and five tubular steel viaducts, at Upgang, Newholme Beck, East Row, Sandsend and Staithes. This photo shows the site of Sandsend viaduct. It was taken to match the "past" view, seen on the "Disused Stations" website. I have to say, even as something of a railway fan, that the scene here is much improved without the viaduct!
