Description
English: Site of Omagh Primitive Methodist Church. It was at the Dublin Road, where McGinns Furniture is presently located. In one of Dr Haldene Mitchell's "Images of Omagh" series there is a picture taken in 1948 showing flooding on the Dublin Road and the Primitive Methodist church built in 1859 at a cost of £500 can be seen. It closed its doors in 1878 after the Union, when it had 90 adult members. It served as a carpenter's shop, and after the war as a hatchery. It was purchased in 1947 by Mr Jack McGinn, who in 1968 re-built it into the present furniture shop.
