| Description |
Nederlands: Parochiekerk van Sint-Cordula Vrijstaand gebouw gelegen temidden van het voormalige kerkhof dat oorspronkelijk de hele oppervlakte tussen de Verbertstraat (west), Jozef Van Craenstraat (Z.), ongeveer de huidige Schotenvaart (oost), en de Venstraat (noord) besloeg. In 1882 werd de eigenlijke begraafplaats rond de kerk afgesloten met traliewerk; het lage muurtje met toegangspoort en ijzeren hek tgov. de ingang van de kerk herinnert hieraan. In 1928 werd de begraafplaats ten Z.O. van het Cordulaplein ingericht en de open ruimte rond de kerk beplant. Aan de Z.-zijde werd een witstenen Heilig Hart beeld door L. Vleeshouwers geplaatst, achter het koor een beeldengroep voor de gesneuvelden van de Eerste Wereldoorlog door J. Strijmans.
