Summary
[edit]DescriptionSingle-Manual Harpsichord Carl Conrad Fleischer 1716.JPG |
English: The relatively small Instrument shows in its painting on its case and in its base considerable changes made in the 19th century. However, sound-board, keyboard and action luckily remained untouched so that after a thorough restoration it can again produce its original tone. It has a range of C - c³ and has a two 8-foot and one 4-foot register.
Carl Conrad Fleischer was a member of the keyboard instrument maker workshop of Fleischer-Middelburg-Zell, who were highly esteemed and lived in Hamburg from ca. 1670-1750. But only a few of their instruments have survived. Because of its unusually wide compass, this instrument appears to have been made to specification for a private client.
