Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Simple representation of a discharge tube. Direct current (DC) used for simplicity purposes. The potential difference and subsequent electric field causes the free cations (positive) to accelerate toward the cathode (negative electrode) and the anions and electrons (negative) to the anode (positive electrode).

If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with {{vector version available|new image name}}.

It is recommended to name the SVG file “Simple representation of a discharge tube - plasma.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter.
