After spending a pleasanttime at the Inn, we returned to the fraternity room, and heard amost helpful address from Brother Webster. We are sure thatevery one was instructed and pre-eminently benefited by hisaddress. The entire evening was profitably and pleasantly spent. On April 12, 1907, Brothers Wallace and Johns were two ofthe representatives of the Washington Literary Society at theannual public debate. The question was decided against them,yet they made the other fellows work hard for what they got. Although we had taken two new men into our number, we kepton the lookout, and April 15, 1907, we initiated our new brother,Roscoe Marvin White, Portsmouth, Va., 09. We used the Ritual to advantage. He isexpecting to make the ministry his lifes work, and is the onlyone of our number who has decided on that calling, but he willbe a help to us and we hope to prove a help to him. We areglad to have men who are expecting to enter different vocationsin life, and we are sure that the principles of S $ E will be ofconstant help in any vocation. On April 26, 1907,, Randolph-Macon College and Hampden-Sidney College met in an inter-collegiate debate. BrotherYancey was one of Randolph-Macons representatives. Randolph-Macon won the debate, and we are justly proud of BrotherYancey. He gave a line speech and it was well delivered, andwas a great factor in winning the debate. We regret to say that Brother Snell has had to stop hiswork and go home, on account of his eyes. He is under treat-ment and expects to return in time to take his examinations.
