Description English/Anglais.SW2009-0275-09.07 August 2009.Halifax, NS..423 Maritime Helicopter Squadron's Captain Andrew McGarva holds the Stanley Cup as its flown over Halifax in a CH124 SeaKing Helicopter...International hockey sensation and Cole Harbour native, Sidney Crosby, team captain of the Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins, brought the Cup home today. Mr. Crosby and the Stanley Cup arrived by Sea King Helicopter on the flight deck of HMCS Preserver at 9am in Her Majesty's Canadian Dockyard. Following greetings from the Honorable Peter McKay, Minister of National Defense and Minister for the Atlantic Gateway and Rear Admiral Paul Maddison, Commander of Joint Task Force Atlantic, Mr. Crosby met a group of sailors, soldiers, airmen and airwomen as well as civilian employees and their families representing Halifax Region Canadian Forces units for photos and autographs before leaving the Dockyard in a Light Armored Vehicle convoy to bring the cup to his hometown of Cole Harbour, NS...Photo by Corporal Amy Martin, 12 Wing Imaging Services
