Svenska: Dieselmotorn är en så kallad gammeldiesel där bränslet sprayas in med hjälp av tryckluft. På bilden ser man de tre tryckluftsbehållarna på 70 bar. De två stora är för att starta motorn med och den lilla i mitten är avsedd för luftinsprutningen av bränslet. Till höger i grönt syns generatorn från 1922 380 V trefas, som monterades när motorn installerades i Sibo. Dessförinnan hade den stått vid Djursholms elektricitetsverk där den dragit en likströmsgenerator med remdrift. Motorn har helt öppet vevhus och saknar trycksmörjning av lager, endast cylindersmörjningen har oljetryck och då med hjälp av det som fanns på ångmaskiner så kallade oljepressar. Motorn är förmodligen världens äldsta flercylindriga motor som fortfarande är i drift om ej kommersiellt utan enbart som kuriosa.
English: The diesel engine is what we call an old fashion diesel, where the fuel is sprayed into the cylinder using compressed air. On the picture you can see the three pressure vessels designed for 70 bar. The two larger vessels are for starting air and the smaller in the middle for fuel injection. To the right you can see the generator, 380 V three phase, which was installed 1922 when the engine was moved to Sibo Kilafors. Before that date the engine was located in Djursholms electrical power plant where it was generated DC via a belt drive. The engine has a completely open crankcase and no pressurised oil for lubrication except for the cylinder lubrication which is performed by means of so called oil presses the same construction common on steam engines. The engine is probably the oldest in the world of multi cylinder type that still is running even if it now days is only for curiosity. |
