Years ago, women were very troubled by a monster named Kolasur . The women got tired of their troubles and prayed to Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh. These women made the Gods aware of their condition. Gods gave this work to Vishnu's wife Mahalaxmi after seeing their problems. Mahalaxmi fought and defeated Kolasur. By the grace of Mahalaxmi, women become disenchanted and lived happily.The Mahalakshmi festival is celebrated as a reminder of the goddess's devotion. The ladies happily establish gauri and decorate them at home. Various dishes are made and prayed for happiness and prosperity.
