Summary
[edit]DescriptionShort-beaked echidna - Sydney Harbour National Park 2020-08-25.jpg |
English: Sydney Harbour National Park. The echidna, together with the platypus, is one of the strangest animals on the Australian continent. The animals are related to each other, both belong to the monotremes, an ancient basic group of mammals, but their external appearance is not at all similar. Echidnas use their electroreceptive beaks to sense ants. They have large claws and use them to dig for their prey. The rather big echidna on North Head just found ants in the tree stump. |
