Description
English: The Shaheed Minar, once known as the Ochterlony Monument, is a landmark in Kolkata that was raised in 1828 in memory of Major-general Sir David Ochterlony, leader of the British East India Company, to remember the two his fruitful guard of Delhi against the Marathas in 1804 and the triumph of the East India Company's military over the Gurkhas in the Anglo-Nepalese War, otherwise called the Gurkha War. The landmark was developed in his memory. It was planned by J. P. Parker and paid for from public assets.
বাংলা: শহীদ মিনার, যা একসময় ওচটারলনি স্মৃতিস্তম্ভ নামে পরিচিত ছিল, এটি কলকাতার একটি ল্যান্ডমার্ক যা 1828 সালে ব্রিটিশ ইস্ট ইন্ডিয়া কোম্পানির নেতা মেজর জেনারেল স্যার ডেভিড ওচটারলনির স্মরণে উত্থাপিত হয়েছিল, তাদের দুজনকে দিল্লির ফলপ্রসূ রক্ষীকে স্মরণ করার জন্য। 1804 সালে মারাঠারা এবং ইঙ্গ-নেপালী যুদ্ধে গুর্খাদের উপর ইস্ট ইন্ডিয়া কোম্পানির সামরিক বাহিনীর বিজয়, অন্যথায় গুর্খা যুদ্ধ বলা হয়। তার স্মৃতিতে ল্যান্ডমার্কটি তৈরি করা হয়েছিল। এটি জেপি পার্কার পরিকল্পনা করেছিলেন এবং পাবলিক সম্পদ থেকে অর্থ প্রদান করেছিলেন।
