Description

So I walk in this restaurant, and nobody speaks English well enough to teach me what to order… so I ask for a “hot pot” (a boiling pan with tofu and cabbage)… one of the waitresses let me know that there is rice I get help myself in another table. I some of the hot pot, and, a little disappointed with the food, ask for the check… The waitress seems strangely disappointed, but brings the check anyway. Afterwards I learned that I should have ordered the real food along with the hot pot, that is used to cook the food, that is served raw in this kind of places… And more: that restaurant was one of Taipei’s most famous <a href="#//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shabu-shabu“">Shabu-Shabu</a> restaurants, and sometimes you need to book it months in advance...

Next time I’ll do it right (I just hope they don’t remember me…)
