Animal characteristics: Head-Body Length: 65-90 cm; Weight: 13.5-19 kg; Identification: The serval is orange-brown with black spots. It has very long and slender legs and large rounded ears on a small head; Habitat: Savannas, open plains, woodlands; Diet: Carnivore: game birds, rodents, small ungulates; Reproduction: One to three cubs are born after a gestation period of 75 days; Social Structure: Servals are solitary; Behavior: Being a diurnal species, most activity takes place during the day; Status: No special status; Interesting Facts: The serval, relatively, has the longest legs of all the cats. They are not used for running but to gain elevation for hunting in tall grass.
