i umieścić je w prywatnych domach, sierocińcach, klasztorach i ochronkach. English: This mural, dedicated to the memory of Irena Sendler, was created in 2014. It is one of several that were painted in various cities in Poland under the nationwide Klamra Foundation initiative programme. The mural depicts Irena Sendler (1910–2008), a Polish social and
charity worker, who was particularly active during the war. She succeeded in rescuing approximately 2,500 children from the Warsaw ghetto and placing them in private homes, orphanages, convents and children’s homes. She buried jars containing the encrypted records of the children’s names in a garden, enabling the children to be reunited after the war with parents and relatives that had survived. The mural’s creators are Małgorzata Rozenau and Dariusz Paczkowski of 3Fala.art.pl. Małgorzata Rozenau is a graduate of the Faculty of Graphic Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. Her artistic pursuits include painting and graphic design. She works in the Department of Painting at the university where she studied. Dariusz Paczkowski is a social activist, street artist, cultural events organiser. |
