Deutsch: Nordostansicht des Südbahnhotels in der niederösterreichischen Gemeinde Semmering.
Das Hotel wurde durch ein Konsortium nach Plänen des Architekten Wilhelm von Flattich im sogenannten „Heimatstil“ errichtet. Die feierliche Eröffnung des Hotels mit 60 Betten erfolgte am 15. Juli 1882 als „Hotel Semmering“. 1889 wurde der Hotelbetrieb durch den Bau der eleganten Dependancen Waldhof hinter dem Hotel um 50 Zimmer erweitert. Von 1901 bis 1903 fand eine erste Erweiterung des Hotelgebäude durch die Architekten Alfred Wildhack und Robert von Morpurgo statt, eine zweite 1908 und und eine dritte 1912/13 durch Architekt Alfred Wildhack. Am 18. Aug. 1932 erfolgte die Eröffnung des Hallenschwimmbades, ein kubischer Zubau mit Terrassenanlage vor dem Haupttrakt nach Plänen des Architekten Emil Hoppe. 1976 wurde der Hotelbetrieb eingestellt und später ein Teil des ursprünglichen Gebäudekomplexes in Eigentumswohnungen umgewandelt: [1]. Ab 2000 wurden Teile des ehemaligen Hotels für kulturelle Veranstaltungen genutzt. Anfang 2022 kaufte die SBH Immobilienbesitz GmbH, ein Unternehmen des österreichischen Immobilienunternehmers und Kulturförderers Mag. Christian Zeller, den Gebäudekomplex und bietet darin seit Sommer 2022 ein ganzjähriges, internationales Kunst-, Kultur- und Veranstaltungsprogramm an: [2], [3].
