Description
Deutsch: Seitenstetten-Hof,Großer, Wien 1.,Seitenstettengasse Nr.5 (Gedenktafeln im Hausflur). Erbaut 1825/1826. Hier befand sich der „Gaminger-Hof (Frey-Hof) und das Katzensteigtor. Es war eines der ältesten Stadttore Wiens und soll noch zu einem Rest einer Umwallung gehört haben, die bis auf die Zeit der Babenberger zurückgeht. Das Tor wurde 1825 abgetragen.
English: Seitenstetten-Hof, Großer, Seitenstettengasse, Vienna 1 Nr. 5 (plaques in the hallway). Built in 1825/1826. Here he found himself "Gaminger-Hof (Frey-Hof) and the Katzensteigtor. It was one of the oldest gates of Vienna and believed to have belonged to a rest of a wall, which dates back to the era of the Babenbergers. The gate was demolished in 1825.

Inschrift: Anno Domini 1352 erwarb Herzog Albrecht hier drei kleine Häuser von der Bürgerfamilie Würffel und gab sie der Kartause Gaming. Diese baute sie zum Gamingerhof um…Nach der zweiten Türkenbelagerung wurde der Hof neu gebaut…das war 1698/99. 1783/84 kaufte Abt Ambros III. von Seitenstetten den Gamingerhof und zwei benachbarte Häuser…1825/26 ließ Abt Columban diese Gebäude abbrechen und durch Kornhäusel(*) den Seitenstettnerhof in der heutigen Form erbauen.

English: Inscription: Anno domini 1352 Duke Albrecht acquired three small houses of the Würffel civil family and gave them to the Kartause Gaming. They rebuilt it to the Gamingerhof…after the second Turkish siege, which was newly built... 1698/99. 1783/84 Ambros III, abbot of Seitenstetten, bought the Gamingerhof and two neighboring houses…1825/26 Abbot Columban demolish the House and by Kornhäusel (*) built the Seitenstettnerhof in its present form.
