I went waling up a road for perhaps a kilometer when I started to see some rather odd reflector antennas. I was shortly to discover the Allen Telescope Array, a most curious instrument. The Allen Telescope Array (ATA is a joint effort by the SETI Institute and the Radio Astronomy Laboratory (RAL) at the University of California, Berkeley to construct a radio interferometer that is dedicated to astronomical observations and a simultaneous search for extraterrestrial intelligence.
