Summary
[edit]DescriptionSeeigel-Fossil 03.jpg |
English: Fossil test of a sea urchin of the extinct family Micrasteridae (? Micraster sp.) from an unknown locality (possibly from the Upper Cretaceous of NW Germany), in oblique adoral-posterior view, with quite a lot of adhering remains of the marly host rock obscuring especially the periproct. |

English: Note the conspicuous “lip” below the mouth, a characteristic trait of Micraster-like spatangoids. The actual mouth (peristome) would be obscured by the “lip” even in straight view on the lower side (adoral side).
