Description |
English: By 1902, the trolley line that ran along the east shore of Green Lake had been extended through Woodland Park. In 1903, the Seattle Electric Company began regular sightseeing tours on the line during warm weather. In their plan for Woodland Park, the Olmsted Brothers wanted low embankments built beside the tracks to cut down on noise and screen out the view of the wheels, but this was never done.
In this photo, taken in the early 1900s, a group of sightseers ride through Woodland Park on a special "Seeing Seattle" trolley car sponsored by the Seattle Electric Company.
