Summary
[edit]DescriptionSeattle - Duncan Building 01.jpg |
English: Duncan Building, 315 Second Avenue South, Pioneer Square neighborhood, Seattle, Washington, USA. Built 1902 by J.A. Hyde for wholesale business and initially known as the Hyde Block, this was the home of Duncan & Sons Saddlery and Shoe Findings from 1919 (when they purchased and remodeled the building) until 1976, when they moved to a Sodo location, where they lasted about another quarter century. Since then, it has mostly been a series of restaurants and bars, including one of the incarnations of Jazz Alley and one of the incarnations of the Fenix. For a while after Duncan & Sons moved, the old painted sculpture of a horse remained mounted above the front entrance; then a replica; now gone entirely. For more information see Summary for 315 2nd AVE / Parcel ID 5247800720, Seattle Department of Neighborhoods. This is the same building, despite their having accidentally omitted "South" from the address |
