English: Landslide at Fifth and Terrace, Seattle, Washington, 1914. Atop the hill was the 1890 King County Court House at Seventh Avenue and Jefferson Street. The hill was known as "Profanity Hill" for the miserable climb up from downtown. Item 33, Engineering Department Photographic Negatives (Record Series 2613-07), Seattle Municipal Archives. Seattle Municipal Archives changed its URL scheme circa 2022; the older URLs beginning with "clerk" are deprecated, and will eventually fail. The following search should find item number 33 in their new database:
