Summary
[edit]DescriptionSea water and subterranean gas is what makes these mud volcanoes come alive (36450111543).jpg | Video- A true wonder of Mother Nature- here is a mud volcano. Sea water (the Caspian Sea is just on the horizon) with subterranean gas make these mud volcano bubble away. The ones with more water are generally safe but the ones with very little water like this one here have been known to erupt without warning. Some locals collect the mud for cosmetic purposes. Sea water and subterranean gas is what makes these mud volcanoes come alive. (Note to my viewers on Facebook: some of you might have seen this video earlier as I had posted it on Instagram as well. In this album, the video seems to have disappeared completely although it did upload correctly. Fortunately however, unlike to all the other videos in this album which seem to have disapeared, this video is still on Facebook, sitting in the 'Videos' album.) (Gobustan, Azerbaijan, Sept. 2017) |
