Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Sculpture, Queen's/Custom House Square, Belfast This sculpture, close to the Albert Clock, which was privately commissioned, is by Ned Jackson Smyth. In his own words “I wanted to create a striking sculpture that would be fresh and dynamic and add an extra dimension to Custom House Square. The final piece uses the overall theme of ‘renewed life and hope’ as a celebration of the regeneration of Belfast, yet symbolically conveys the imperial connections Northern Ireland has with Russia through the shapes and materials used. I hope the final sculpture will be thought provoking and inspirational to passers-by and will offer the pedestrian viewer an appealing interaction.” Boy that’s powerful altogether.
