Summary
[edit]DescriptionSculptor Dwarf Galaxy (Hubble, DSS2) (2019-57-4587-Image).jpeg |
English: The Sculptor dwarf galaxy is a companion to the Milky Way galaxy. Astronomers will use Webb to study the motions of stars in Sculptor and Draco, another dwarf companion to the Milky Way. By studying how the stars move, the researchers will be able to determine how the dark matter is distributed in these galaxies. |

JPEG file comment | The Sculptor Dwarf Galaxy is one of the Milky Way’s neighbouring dwarf galaxies. Like all large galaxies, the Milky Way is thought to have formed from smaller galaxies in the early Universe. This image is composed from data from the Digitized Sky Survey 2. |
