[edit]DescriptionScudder's American Museum in the New York Institution.jpg |
English: The view is eastward from Broadway. Chambers Street is at left. Shown is the narrow side of a wide building, City Hall Park's second almshouse, labeled "5" on the map. When the almshouse moved, the building became home to multiple cultural institutions, including Scudder's American Museum, and was renamed the New York Institution.
See An Appeal for the Preservation of City Hall Park New York with A Brief Hisory of the Park (New York: The American Scenic and Historic Preservation Society, April 1910), "The Second Almshouse, 1797-1857," pp. 15-6. |
