Description
English: Countermeasure wash down sprinklers are activated as the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan transits through the Pacific Ocean at the conclusion of a fly-off for the fixed-wing aircraft of Carrier Air Wing 14. The countermeasure wash down sprinklers were used as the rinsing agent after a flight deck scrub exercise, but can also be used in the event of a chemical, biological or radiation attack to wash toxic materials off of the ship. Ronald Reagan is on a routine deployment, currently in the 3rd Fleet area of responsibility.
