Summary
[edit]DescriptionSchule am Meer - Doyen-Haus 2199 200 201.jpg |
English: South-easterly view: Doyen-Haus was named after its former owner. It was bought by Stiftung Schule am Meer (= Schule am Meer Foundation) in 1926, was partly demolished and built-up again in larger scale for the school's purposes. It was used to house three teacher families (Annemarie and Martin Luserke, Christel and Fritz Hafner and Eduard Zuckmayer). It also obtained one classroom and the school's infirmary. Within the school the building got renamed as 'do' whereas its adjacent school buildings were named as 're' and 'mi'. 're' contained two classrooms and 'mi' housed the nature study rooms and repository as well as thirty sea aquariums. Today 're' and 'mi' are used as Küstenmuseum Juist.
