Deutsch: Erste urkundliche Beweise über eine Befestigungsanlage an der Stelle des heutigen Schlosses gibt es aus dem Jahre 1094. Ein Hermannus de Dicco war danach Besitzer der damals noch sehr einfachen Burg. 1383 wurde dem damaligen Besitzer Gerhard von Dyck, genau wie so vielen anderen Rittern am Niederrhein Raubrittertum vorgeworfen. Seine Burg wurde eingenommen und zerstört, doch 10 Jahre später hatte man sie wieder errichtet. Ab 1645 wurde sie durch den kurkölnischen Oberst Ernst Salentin von Salm-Reifferscheidt-Dyck schlossartig ausgebaut. 1961 wurde die gesamte Anlage restauriert und auch die Schäden des 2. Weltkrieges beseitigt. Die wirklich sehenswerte Parkanlage wurde am 1794 von Fürst Joseph Salm-Reifferscheidt-Dyck im Stile eines englischen Gartens gestaltet. Das Schloss liegt zwischen Steinforth und Aldenhoven am Niederrhein. Das betreten der Anlage kostet Eintritt - für meine Erfahrung ein exorbitant hohen Eintrittspreis. Kaum ein anderes Schloss langt derart massiv zu, zumal das fotografieren in den Räumen verboten ist oder man zahlt dafür noch einmal einen extra Obolus!!! (modernes Raubrittertum). In vergleichbaren Schlossparks wie z.B Nymphenburg zahlt man keinen Eintritt. |
