Description
Deutsch: Das Schloss Löwenstein liegt in Kleinheubach im unterfränkischen Landkreis Miltenberg in Mainnähe. Erbauen ließ das barocke Schloss nebst Park in den Jahren 1721 bis 1732 der zweite Fürst aus dem katholischen Zweiges des Hauses Löwenstein-Wertheim, der damals 31-jährige Dominik Marquard zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rochefort (1690-1735), unmittelbar nach dessen Kauf der Herrschaft Kleinheubach vom Grafen von Erbach. Im rechten Flügel wurde die katholische Schlosskapelle errichtet, die früher von den Kapuzinern des Klosters Engelberg mitversehen wurde. Nach Plünderung 1945, mietete ab 1948 unter Postminister Hans Schuberth (1897-1976) das Fernmeldetechnische Zentralamt FTZ der Deutschen Bundespost Schloss und den 17 ha großen Park, saniertes es und betrieb hier bis 2005 eine Tagungs- und Fortbildungsstätte. Dann übernahm die Stiftung Fürst zu Löwenstein das Objekt. Seit dem Jahre 2012 wird das Schloss u.a. als Tagungsstätte genutzt. Auch finden hier jetzt kulturelle Veranstaltungen im barocken Ambiente statt: Theater, Comedy und Konzerte mit erstklassigen Künstlern. Sogar der britische Popstar Elton John ist schon in Kleinheubach aufgetreten.
English: The Castle Löwenstein in Kleinheubach in the Miltenberg district of Lower Franconia near the Main River. The castle was built 1721–32. Since 2012 it has been used as a venue for conferences.
